Q. What do I do if I smell gas?
A. Leave your home or facility immediately! Do not even use a phone or turn on or off a light switch in your home or building as any little spark can cause an explosion or fire. Extinguish all flames. Put out cigarettes. Do not light matches. Do not operate electrical appliances, as they may create a spark.
Turn off all gas appliances. Make sure that all pilot lights are out.
Open all windows and doors to reduce the chance of a gas build up.
If you still smell gas, or you think that gas is still escaping, turn off the main gas tap at the meter [if you know how].
Then leave the property and call the Fire Department and Gas Company.
Natural gas is a colorless and odorless gas that is lighter than air and is predominantly made up of methane. For safety reasons, an odorant is added to give natural gas its distinctive smell.
Although natural gas is non-toxic, it can still be dangerous. When mixed with certain concentrations of air, it can ignite if exposed to a naked flame or spark. The distinctive odor helps to ensure that even small leaks can be detected quickly.
Q. Are you hiring?
A. We are always looking for quality personnel. If you are a licensed plumber or an experienced apprentice, have a valid drivers license, are drug free and are looking for a great team, give us a call.
Q. Do you charge for overtime?
A. We charge overtime on emergency calls after 4:00 PM and before 8:00 AM and on weekends and holidays.
Q. How fast can you get here if I have an emergency?
A. Usually we can have a plumber onsite within an hour.
Q. What is a back-flow preventer and why do I have to have one?
A. A back flow preventer is a check valve that prevents water from flowing backwards into a water supply line resulting in a contaminated water supply. There are degrees of protection ranging from a vacuum breaker on a garden hose line to reduced pressure zone backflow preventers commonly used in an industrial setting where chemicals are connected to water lines and if pressure was lost on the water supply cross contamination could occur. What is used and where it is installed depends on the application and the treat level. We have several certifiers on staff and we’ll submit all the paperwork for you.

Q. Do you charge for estimates?
A. We do not charge our commercial clients for estimates unless there is substantial diagnostic work performed A. We do charge residential customers an estimate fee that will be deducted against any work we perform. We do this because we feel it is more important to give our client a true evaluation and estimate of the cost as opposed to a sales pitch like companies offering free estimates.
